FAQ

Questions, answered

Straight answers about price, privacy and what Embera does and does not do.

The basics

Is Embera free?

Yes. The dose log, site rotation map, estimated medication level, weight trend, reminders, daily check-ins, widget and CSV export are free, with no time limit. Embera Pro adds the deeper views (cycle, food noise patterns, supply, reports) for $39.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, or $9.99 a month.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There is no sign-up and no login. You open the app and start logging.

Which medications does it work with?

Zepbound, Mounjaro, Wegovy, Ozempic, compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, and GLP-1 pills like Rybelsus, the Wegovy pill and Foundayo. You can also add another medication by name.

Does Embera tell me what dose to take?

No, and it never will. You log the dose your prescriber gave you. Embera is a tracking tool: it does not give medical advice, suggest doses or diagnose anything. Always follow your prescriber or pharmacist.

Privacy and your data

Where does my health data go?

It stays on your iPhone, and in your own private iCloud if you use iCloud. We do not run a server that collects your logs, and there are no ads. The app sends anonymous usage signals (like "onboarding step 5 reached") that never contain your health data. Details are in the privacy policy.

What if I switch phones or stop using Embera?

With iCloud on, your logs follow you to your new iPhone. And you can export everything as a CSV file at any time, free, even if you stop using the app.

How the app works

How is the medication level calculated?

From the dates and doses you log and the published half-life of your medication (about 7 days for semaglutide, about 5 for tirzepatide). It is an estimate to help you understand your week, not a lab result, and the app labels it that way.

Does it work with Apple Health?

Yes. If you turn it on, Embera reads your weight from Apple Health and writes the weigh-ins you log back to it.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. Embera is iPhone only for now.

Embera Pro

Other trackers are free. Why would I pay?

You might not need to: the everyday tracking is free for good. Pro is for people who want answers from their data, like how their cycle moves the scale, which days their food noise gets loud, when their supply runs out, and a report for their appointment.

Can I cancel Pro easily?

Yes, in your iPhone Settings, under Apple ID, then Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial ends and you are not charged. Your data and the free features stay.

Will the price go up?

Not for you. The price you subscribe at stays the same for as long as you stay subscribed.
