Short answer
The maintenance dose is the dose you stay on once the step-by-step increases (titration) are over. For GLP-1 medications, it is chosen by your prescriber based on how well you respond and tolerate the medication, within the doses in the prescribing information.
After the starting weeks and the dose increases, most people reach a dose they stay on: the maintenance dose. It is not the same for everyone. Some people stay at a dose below the highest one in the label because it works for them or because higher doses are hard to tolerate.
Your maintenance dose, and any change to it, is your prescriber’s decision.
